Benefits are very high. Location is in the Bay Area.

Cons

Pay is low. No advancement opportunities for women. Manager was not technically competent but was leading a technical department. It really hurt the initiatives at Berkeley Lab. DOE currently headed by Rick Perry, who unqualified for working in energy, science, or nuclear weapons. A lot of researchers were leaving for other non-U.S. research facilities. Many employees were looking for other opportunities as well because of Trump. Parking is terrible.

-women, black, and hispanic people placed in servile roles around white male scientists -belittled and harassed by superiors -expected to be responsive on Slack at all hours
