Pros

It pays your bills for the most part

Cons

Unquestionably the most toxic work environment I've experienced in my 20 year career. Director that openly yells at employees, highly political culture, no standards, completely arbitrary performance standards, charge PTO when the office is shut and power is out during hurricanes. ZERO resolution from HR. About 50% attrition in the 7 months I've been in my group. Most new employees that joined since I've been here have already quit, some without other jobs. We have some good low level employees and a few good managers but they are totally at the mercy of incompetent and vindictive directors, complicit HR and the radioactive culture.

No Opportunities for Professional Mobility

Pros

-There is a global employee perspectives survey annually. -Because KBR is a smaller company access to management is simple, all levels of management are available and accessible in the system.

Cons

In my opinion only and based on my experience working for KBR, I have observed a distinct absence of opportunities for professional mobility within the organization. I feel like we have lost dozens of highly capable, very educated, and technically skilled employees because they were not allowed to advance into another position at KBR. Also, KBR appears to predominantly hire professionals who have prior experience with the specific contractors in predefined roles. It does not seem to matter if the professional was successful with the contractor previously (simplified basically hiring an employee that was fired or laid off for legit cause only because they had a specific company on their resume). I feel that this limits the diversity of perspectives and skillsets, and possibly pushes the ages of employees to only later career professionals. Lastly, I have noticed a consistent issue of underpayment for SOME employees, which raises concerns. It is important to highlight these observations as areas for improvement within the company. Constructive feedback is crucial for fostering a positive work environment and encouraging an inclusive approach to talent acquisition and compensation.
