Pros

Very innovative company within techonlogy sector

Cons

Employees are not treated well. Employees have gotten pay cuts even when IBM has record profits. Employees are not getting rises even with good preformance. I did not get a rise in 2008 even through I had over $350,000 of billable hours and helped win two mult-million dollar sales of IBM software. I received no real financially reward for this only the sales team got a financial benefit. The sales team gave me $25.00 Thanks reward for this work. I found this total unjust and insulting. To conclude employees at IBM are seen as a cost to upper mangemet and not as an asset. All companyies say that employees are assets to they companies but only a few truly mean it and IBM is not a company that means it.

Pros

Better than local companies but still a little traditional compare to HP or Microsoft in benefits, salary, bonus, and personal growth.

Cons

Benifits aren't better than HP or Microsoft and other international company. Should hire people with all the right skills and let the employees feel proud of themselves working for IBM.

Pros

The flexibility to work from home or at a client site. The ability to be able to work on a variety of projects. If you like to travel this is the company for you considering you can basically live anywhere you chose and travel to your work location if not located in your living city.

Cons

Some of the downside to working for IBM as a consultant is you don't have the direct day to day communication with Management. Even though you have a project manager, that person does not always keep you update on everything going on. Another downside is if you have problems with a manager or co-workers getting management involved sometimes can be a problem.
