Pros

Amazing technologies, fun atmosphere. Excellent challenging projects. Proper software development life cycle. Will learn something everyday. Great team of people. Relax work atmosphere. Subsidized private bistro for lunches. Private gym with personal trainer service. Daily fruit basket. "No cubicle" office policy. Vast majority of employees share an office with one other and most offices have a window. Perfect place to start a career as you will learn so much.

Cons

Very little opportunity to progress in career. Too many developers in a flat style hierarchy. Managers have great dialogue with subordinates but do very little with the feedback. Same circle of people being promoted. Air of secrecy for information and decisions that could be shared for overall employee goals and objectives. Decisions for promotions are "back room" conversations and no definitive answers are given. Project pace is extremely high. Key members of the team doing large portion of the work. No disciplinary actions taken for employees routinely missing their objectives. There's a major divide that didn't exist before between sales and engineering. Sales promises things that engineering can't possibly deliver in the promised time frame. No one is looking at the big picture. Employees and customers are suffering. Remote location hard to access by public transportation. Bus "comes" every 30 minutes or so but is often late or doesn't arrive at all. Salaries are not competitive given market value and are not adjusted for growth in career.

Pros

As a developer, you get to work on very interesting products using cutting edge technology. 3 weeks vacation to start + they give a week off at Christmas (not guaranteed, but they have always done it since I have been there). Rarely a problem when requesting time off either. They understand people need a break and don't run people into the ground. The work environment is great: Fully equipped gym, foosball and pool table, PS3 with a bunch of games, free coffee, no cubicles (except for tech support). They will help pay for work-related training (including university) and also offer employee referral bonuses.

Cons

Can be a bit difficult to advance if you are looking for the fast track to a management position. Company is transitioning from small to medium size and it no longer has that tight-knit family feel to it.
