Pros

small and familiar environment but that's not brig bread on the table

Cons

working in Portugal and in Lisbon in my case has been an awful experience. You work to survive in this country with one of the lowest salaries in Europe. So if you receive a convincing proposal with language bonus and incentives to move here , be aware of the fact that these bonuses finish at one point and you're left to SURVIVE with a bit more than 800 euro. to sum up , these multinational companies are exploiting Portugal and the Multilingual workers who come here thinking to find the conditions of a EU state Member. Well forget it It's like being in a underdeveloped country not EU. Think 100 times before moving here.

Pros

Working from home is the only advantage in working for them, but don't get too excited, as they are planning on going back to the office soon once the pandemic is over, so this ''pro'' should not be taken seriously.

Cons

They don't let you work outside Portugal (you're not even allowed to go to neighbouring Spain for a few days and work from there) and they will ship you a huge desktop PC (with a monitor, a computer case, a mouse... etc) for you to work remotely for them, rather than a modern small laptop, which, honestly, is ridiculous, if you ask me. We are in the 21th century and the computers they send are from the 90's. They don't want to invest in new equipment and laptops. They don't allow users to work with their own personal computers. Also, if you quit your job and don't return the PC in time, they might charge you 50 euros per day, which I'm surprised such a condition is even legal in Portugal. They are very paranoid about security and lack trust for all employees. They bend over to clients, they don't know how to stand for their employees against abusive clients and end up becoming abusive too. They are basically the clients' private hookers. They are never satisfied with the quality of the work you provide. There is always something else they will pick on. Stressful job, HR is horrible. Sometimes they don't pay you accordingly and you will have to contact them. Management has some cool people and some toxic people who want to make you miserable like they are. No opportunity for growth; most of the managers are Portuguese, so if you are not Portuguese, you will struggle a lot. As a customer support company, it is very sad that they are so backward to the point in which all of their projects have calls. There are many customer service companies these days that offer Live Chat Support jobs. Sitel thinks that calls are the only to solve someone's problems. Who likes calls? No one. Only a dinosaur does. Also the pay is very low.

Pros

Lenient attendance policy, but that's also the easiest way to get let go. As long as you are coachable and want to learn you can advance, Attendance bonus monthly plus other stats, random spiffs for other stats like CSAT.

Cons

You will usually be working on any given holiday unless you are lucky and plan ahead to save your PTO to schedule in advance.
