Pros

Laid back culture Code on site is run by millions of people Work can be interesting with cool engineering problems Great work locations

Cons

Hiring standards have gone way down Low pay compared to other tech companies Not as many perks as other tech companies Work life balance can be bad on certain teams Politics of a regular large company Stock is falling Promotions appear to be time based rather than merit Work from home is less flexible than other jobs in the industry Bulky legacy codebases slow down development

All depends on the department

Pros

Laid back atmosphere, lots of social events, some good benefits, international environment. Angel Building is a great office. (Angel Square is awful. Two different worlds).

Cons

Difficulty in growing in your career or to move to different teams. All depends on the department you are in. Avoid GSO - it has nothing to do with the rest of Expedia. The way it works is very old style. Lots of control, no career prospective, very structured. Management has no clue.
