Great people, great firm, but too much politics and no team wide talent management strategy - Manager Strategy& Employee Review

Pros

Good alternative to MBBs and Tier2 (OW, RB, ATK): - Smart and committed colleagues - Great managers and directors - Great industry specific knowledge - Interesting projects - London based job so limited travel

Cons

Reward talent and hard work, in a structure way and winning good work: - Low pay compared to competitors, at par for juniors but very low for managers and above - Unclear career progression above manager, a lot of politics involved for promotions - Sales focused culture at the top, so partners tend to accept any project size and any fee even if it doesn’t add creds or skills to the team. This leads to understaffing and often team burnout - Long working hours (although this is a norm in the industry, sometimes it is hard to switch off before midnight for a few weeks/months) in addition to weekend work and holiday cancellations - Siloed organisation: hard to cooperate with other parts of PwC

Pros

You can get a good amount of beach time. If you have a lot going on in your life, that may be a good thing. If you are young and need to learn, don't let that happen. Being busy and grinding (within reason) is more worth it than things being too chill. Some projects that had travel had good culture.

Cons

Layoffs all the time for wrong reasons, way too remote with no ability to get young and hungry people the experience in person they need. Always stressing about utilization.
