Pros

-Smart people -Interesting/challenging projects -Above industry average compensation The low Vault rankings aren't indicative of the great people and interesting projects at Strategy&. It's true the brand took a hit with the PwC acquisition which resulted in the loss of a lot of great Booz talent and company prestige. However, Strategy& still recruits top talent and works on top strategic engagements. It's a great place to learn the consulting toolkit and meet awesome people.

Cons

-Limited exit opportunities -Poor work/life balance -Growing pains from acquisition -Lack of diversity I'm not sure the PwC acquisition has reached its full potential; in fact, it may have hurt more than it helped. During the buy and hold period, a lot of partners were bidding their time until they could cash out resulting in poor management and unnecessary burdens on associates/sr associates. However, a lot of those partners have since left which has improved the firm a bit. Nonetheless, prestige and reputation took a hit which makes the brand less valuable in the open market for exit opportunities. Also, poor work/life balance which is no different than other top strategy shops.

Pros

You can get a good amount of beach time. If you have a lot going on in your life, that may be a good thing. If you are young and need to learn, don't let that happen. Being busy and grinding (within reason) is more worth it than things being too chill. Some projects that had travel had good culture.

Cons

Layoffs all the time for wrong reasons, way too remote with no ability to get young and hungry people the experience in person they need. Always stressing about utilization.
