Pros

Brand name is good Good parking

Cons

Deloitte Valuation IJV Mumbai - Management is on short term contract and thus doesn't care about department culture. Management blindly favors couple of old employees and has awarded them back to back promotions and also has given them free rein to harrass and insult people. These Managers/ Senior Managers are very vocal in using staffing and appraisals as tools to intimidate people and humiliate their unfavored people very openly. This has also led to panic attacks and nervous breakdowns in many juniors. When some of the employees escalated issue to management, rather than taking any action against them, they were actually rewarded through promotions and good ratings every year. The people who filed complaints always end-up resigning because after filing complaints their life become even more miserable. Management is even allowing engaged /married couples to work in the same department (in violation of global policy), where they can affect each others and their juniors' appraisals/promotions very visibly. In the historical meetings, the married/engaged couples had been advocating each others performances very vocally, which affected their ratings/ promotions and secondments very positively. Thus, its a really bad place for people who want to grow through performance alone. Humiliating juniors is a way of life here, which is rewarded by management.

Pros

Great learning experience right out of college. It sounds very cliche, but the people you work with really are the best part of the company. For the most part, everyone is very helpful and wants to see you succeed. Build fundamental skills in Excel, manage multiple engagements at once and have good exposure to Sr. Managers & PPMDs. Benefits are excellent, pay is okay. 5 weeks PTO, $500 Wellness Subsidy, various Health Insurance Options, cell phone paid for.

Cons

I joined the practice when it still was under Deloitte Consulting (it recently moved to Finance & Administration under Deloitte Services). They sell this position as "Consulting" or being a "Trusted Business Advisor", but the truth is it is administrative work. The job is focused on the internal metrics of Consulting, Audit, Tax & Advisory engagements and you do not deal directly with the clients. Day to day tasks include auditing expenses, running burn reports, running standardized financial models, moving time/expenses to different codes, etc. (tasks that the client service professional don't want to do). Constant pressure from upper management to move more work to India. Personally, I felt that their long term strategy is to move most or all of the work offshore to India. Hard to transfer into Deloitte Consulting or Deloitte Advisory from Deloitte Services

Pros

Impression of brand is good? to the clueless

Cons

WORK (Deloitte Digital) -Quality of work doesn't matter at all - as long as you get an extension to the project -Doesn't matter if there are qualified people to do it as long as there are bodies to be thrown at the project -Pitches are MERELY cut and paste jobs - no innovation and no thought for the brief. Clients are just being sucked day and night. Poor fools. MANAGEMENT -A joke really - both partners are abusive, talk only and do jack. Directors suck up to the partners and sleep in their 'privileged' rooms all day. -Senior Managers (who do jack most of the time as well) leave to join larger tech companies to continue selling dreams. Just linkedin these jokers (in Singapore) and you will know what I mean -Stay long enough and convince yourself enough that you are doing some form of work and you can prolly make it to director-level. 'Fake it till you make it' sounds so cliche but it's pretty much what you do all-day.
