Pros

The technicians and support staff are there to help whenever and however they can, unfortunately, there is just not enough of them. Employee discounts? (Makes it so that an overpriced piece of equipment a little less overpriced).

Cons

The brain trust at Culligan does not believe in modern day marketing campaigns. High pressure sales. Having to survey people's filthy homes. Irregular working hours (on call Mon-Sun). Office politics. Preying on retirees. Selling people products that they do not need. Forcing sales reps to ride with technicians to pull a bait and switch on customers who have requested service calls. Sending sales reps to work on installs without any training or compensation. Having sales reps 'inspect' equipment for longtime customers only to turn around and tell them that it's time for a $3,199 replacement (it's always time for a replacement). Passing the buck along is the name of the game; the last to get stuck with the knife will take all the blame for numbers not being met.

Pros

Enjoyed some of my co-workers. Good people in sales dept and project management. Great Christmas party. Convenient location for folks that live in the area. I had never worked so close to home.

Cons

A lot of gossip in the office. Oddly the majority of it coming from the office management. I believe management liked to "pit" the CSR's against each other. Often spoke of fellow employees poorly. Would also divulge confidential information about co-workers including wages. Made you think you were "friends" and then would use things you said in confidence against you. Once one of my co-workers and I got on the same page and began noticing the same things we caught management in MANY MANY lies. It was a toxic environment. Turn over was INSANE! The office management fired people often for made up reasons. I was the 4th CSR to be hired in just a few months. The training is beyond INADEQUATE. Management would wait for you to screw up and instead of guide you and teach you would belittle you and reprimand you. No guidance. When someone in management came in with bronchitis for a week and was working closely with me on a project I came down with bronchitis a couple weeks later and had to miss 4 days of work I had NEVER had bronchitis before. I had to go to the doctor and get antibiotics....copay, prescription and time off work all cost me money. I am not someone that likes to miss work. I got written up and had to use 4 days of my vacation since I had not accrued enough sick time. People were constantly coming to work sick because they were scared to call in. This created a terrible pattern of people passing illnesses (colds, etc) back and forth. I was stunned when I got written up for being out sick WITH a doctors note. Most employers encourage people to stay home when they are sick. I know as an employee I would rather cover for a co-worker and do double the work than get sick because they did not stay home. At the end of my year there I too was fired for illegitimate reasons. The office management built a case against me and got rid of me just like I had watched happen to several other employees. I remained close to one of my co-workers and learned recently that they were fired as well....after 7 years with the company. Oh I almost forgot to mention the workload....it was RIDICULOUS. Everybody worked overtime to meet deadlines. No regard for personal life or family time.
