Pros

- work on a good product - good team members - equity

Cons

When I joined Hotjar it was a dream come true. It was a company that trusted its employees, was transparent in all areas, generous and fair. When Contentsquare acquired us, we were told that our companies had so much in common and that of course we would not lose our good benefits or the culture that we loved. Now we are told that we are overcompensated, that we will lose most of our benefits, that our (now long delayed) performance reviews may no longer result in the raises we expected. The clear information we had about compensation as Hotjar - where salary bands were public knowledge - have become opaque with a vague commitment to improve transparency some years down the line. Morale is low among former Hotjarians and an unsympathetic upper management seems irritated with our ‘entitlement’.

Employee feedback is invaluable and helps guide our ongoing efforts, especially in areas like leadership, employee satisfaction and inclusion. While we hope all of our employees have a positive experience at Contentsquare, we also understand this is a unique time for us all and there is always room for improvement. We understand the importance and value of every piece of feedback we receive. We are grateful for the time you took to share your experience with us.

Pros

If you're French, you can get away with acting like a petulant child without repercussions.

Cons

• This is a French company. If you are based outside of France, you are seen as less-than. • Little-to-no consideration is given to US employees for scheduling. A recent example of this: Recently they were going to fly everyone to Punta Cana for our kick-off over Valentine's Day with travel during the Super bowl. • The CEO somehow missed the economic signs until too late. Other tech companies started course correcting much earlier. • They announced layoff's today and after hearing about the people who were let go and the people who stayed, it is clear that the new management in some departments are out of touch with who the producers and non-producers are. This goes double for the Sales and Professional Services groups. • This is the beginning of the end of what was a good place to work. I don't see how anyone still here could have faith in our trajectory.

Contentsquare is a global organisation that is present in more than 10 countries. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive culture for every member of the #csquad, wherever they’re based. We have unfortunately announced a 4% reduction in our workforce due to a global restructure triggered by the current economic climate. We’ve provided our team members with a supportive package of benefits to help them with their next steps. Marisa Bryan Global VP Talent

Pros

There's some nice people and some strong engineers, even if not all. Huge scale of some systems is exciting.

Cons

- Leadership team doesn't believe in Remote work - Leadership team is not transparent with the "why" of decisions. Instead of just not saying it, they will lie to you or tell half-truths. - A lot of inequality in salaries. Some engineers make 3x what others make, without much reason for it. - "Sorry we're french" gets used to justify anything from being late to meetings consistently, to being inconsiderate, to speaking French in meetings or Slack threads, in an international company. - Heavy changes going on at the company make it a bad time to join. Wait a year and see if it still is there.

We're sorry to read you're unsatisfied with your current experience in the company. Regarding remote work, all employees are eligible to work from home up to 2 days per week and work remotely from the location of their choice 5 weeks per year. If you believe you are in a situation which does not able you to benefit from this policy, please reach out to your HRBP. Processes and tools are put in place at Contentsquare to ensure consistency and fairness regarding remuneration (salary bands, levels of approbation, DEI analysis and review, etc.). However, we are working on being more transparent about the compensation policies.
