Pros

Capco offers the best of both worlds, a small company feel where you will be known and able to make an impact, but also brings a Big 5 punch when it comes to delivering complex projects to top tier clients. Projects are at industry leading companies. The caliber of talent steepens your own growth trajectory, as you are surrounded by passionate, bright, people with deep domain knowledge and technical expertise. You know the impact you can make on the organization and don’t feel like just another number - leadership within your group knows every employee by name. The recent shift to being private is a exciting step to fueling Capco's growth aspirations.

Cons

This holds true with all consulting firms, but since teams are dispersed across clients and locations it sometimes is difficult to come together as much as we would like. There is certainly effort made to do this through a variety of after hours events- social, family and philanthropic. The team looks forward to team wide get togethers as a reunion of sorts with people you don't see on your current project.

Thank you for your review and we're pleased to hear your enthusiasm for Capco shining through after 5+ years with the firm. As a senor leader in our firm, it's great to hear your comments on the impact that Capco is having, and can have, in our industry. Capco's growth aspirations mean an increasing number of career development opportunities for our people and as you say, working alongside SMEs and fellow talented colleagues can really help to fuel personal learning and career development. Thank you for your continued contribution to Capco.

Lacks purpose and weak culture

Pros

Compensation can be high No travel required in certain markets Get exposure to the financial industry

Cons

Capco struggles is defining its purpose and creating a strong culture. Many people there do not have a sense of loyalty to the firm nor are they excited about Capco. In some markets, especially DC, Capco's sole business is tethered to a single account and you will essentially function as an employee of the client. That situation will not change because the partners don't seem to want to invest into growth elsewhere and seem comfortable in the arrangement. I would only join Capco if you are unhappy with your current compensation... but realize you're taking a huge risk.

Thank you for your positive comments on our market competitive compensation and benefits and our breadth of exposure to clients in the financial services industry. Capco has chosen to differentiate by way of our focus on financial services. Our consultants at all levels work with a range of market-leading clients in FS alongside seasoned professionals and subject matter experts with a wide range of experience in the sector. Diversification of our client portfolio is a key component of Capco’s strategy for growth. While continuing to serve our foundational clients in locations like DC, we are investing in both extending the range of services we offer, particularly in Digital innovation, and breaking into new clients and markets. We have recently announced a significant restructure of our organizational model in the U.S. to support this objective. A more integrated U.S. business under a common leadership team will enable us to increase collaboration across the region and optimize the deployment of talent in our clients and the market. Our new business model will enable us to better leverage our domains, offerings, and people across the entire U.S. market. We will be able to offer more holistic, innovative and leading edge solutions to clients and more opportunities for career development and progression to our people.

Pros

Less work, one fruit a day, capco parties, cab facility (although its a headache to deal with transport guy) You can a good hike when u r a new joiner but the same goes away in an year and hikes are biased on nepotism

Cons

Quality of work if very bad. Its just a body shop model. In hsbc project it is divided into 3 parts - PMO, Retail Banking and Commercial Banking. Each group follows their own working ethics. In some group work from home is at will while in others it is not allowed. Precisely everything depends on your manager. In retail baking everything is chilled out. InPMO there are too many senior managers so fight for power can be felt. Commercial banking is in different world all together placed on one corner has its own universe, sun (managers) and planets (workforce). If you can revolve around the powerful managers and be sycophant your fate is sealed. Else you have to search for your role and always be cautious of cunning management. As fault will be always yours. Manager (commercial banking) can come and go at any time but u have to complete the mandate of 9 hrs. Login and logout is checked via biometric system. Your lady manager can take leave anytime but there will be an escalation if you take single unplanned leave also. If you go on long leave 10-15 days you will be thrown out of project. If you stay in whitefields or near you will be forced to work from client location which is very far. Your manager will make sure that you are humiliated in front of client and they can come clean. PROACTIVE word will be used often till u start hating to the core. No matter what job role you are offered, but u need to perform what your clients asked ( basically a secretary). Like arranging meetings, MoM, sharepoint management and so on. Good that I left at the correct time. You will even have to struggle to drink water it is so highly mismanaged. Pantry where we get tea/coffee stinks. Tea comes at a particular time if u r late u wil not get it

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a positive experience. We provide training for our managers, however, we also encourage our employees to speak with their Coach or the HR team if they find themselves in a situation where they are unhappy, whether that relates to a project or something else within the firm. We want all employees to have a positive experience and where an employee is unhappy, support is always available from a variety of sources including an individual's Coach, Manager, HR and the different Capco communities.
