      Nothing new in terms of a service based organisation

      Pros

      Great people around frequent parties and gatherings for employees to feel they are still in the organisation but even these pros look are not staying back anymore

      Cons

      A lot of favouritism very secretive in terms accounts and projects looks for new resources instead of using the existing ones

      Thank you for your feedback. We agree that we have great people in our firm, and we get frequent comments on this from candidates, as well as current and former employees on this forum. A career in consulting means that individuals spend a lot of time working on client site, and as a firm, we want to ensure that our people have the opportunity to connect and come together whether through parties, social events or time in the office. This is an important part of the Capco culture. We put a lot of effort into our resourcing practices, to meet the needs of our clients, and the career aspirations of our people. This is done through a number of channels including our resourcing teams, our internal networking portal and account updates. Networking also plays a role in this, and we encourage all of our consultants to drive their careers with the support of their Coach, Manager and HR, and to seek out opportunities that they are interested in.       Capco Scotland - Reflection from First Week

      As the title suggests, I’m a recent joiner of Capco and given I read several reviews on this site before applying, thought only right I leave a review of my experience. Before joining Capco, I was a long term permanent member of staff at one of the major banks. While this was enjoyable, I knew I needed a fresh challenge and right from the Job Advertisement, Capco seemed to be what I was looking for. After years in a ‘traditional’ bank, the most important thing for me was the culture and during a couple of visits to the Edinburgh office and meeting a few employees (doing the interviews), I could tell even then I liked the atmosphere, environment and general ‘feel’ of the place. So, having been in Financial Services for over 15 years I can say that Capco is clearly somewhere a bit more dynamic, where the work will be challenging and varied, where there is a culture of opportunity and learning and more importantly, everyone is supportive and everyone’s voice is heard equally …and coming from a traditional big bank, I’m amazed already at the access to Snr. Management and their willingness to engage.

      Cons

      This is more of a concern really, but hope that the culture and ‘feel’ of Capco that attracted me isn’t eroded when: a) I find myself on a client site (and start to go native) and b) Capco continues to recruit to meet growth strategy

      Innovative and drive career growth. What they say they do they actually deliver! that the key reason I joined Capco. Being respected, having responsibility and a say in how I do my role and can improve things keeps me motivated. Great to feel a part of a great working family and definitely the right move in joining Capco.

We fully agree that it's important that employees at all levels can have their say and shape their role and the firm. We actively encourage our people to share their views on how things can be improved in the firm, as well as what's working well. An example of this are our upcoming 'Shape Capco' sessions in the UK, where all employees will be asked to participate in break-out sessions to share their suggestions and help to shape the future of the firm. Please make sure you find the time to take part! We also encourage our people to take on responsibility from early on in their careers, so that following an intensive training programme, even our most junior consultants have the opportunity to work on real client projects from the start fully supported by senior colleagues.
