Pros

Quick turnaround on project placement (woth little choice if a client requests you mind). Large organisation, well known.

Cons

HR will feed you all sorts to keep you on minimal pay. Bonus and yearly raises V poor. Minimal increases. Delivery with Clients is always second to politics, e.g when considering internal promotions. Heavy focus on social outings (as with most consultancy’s)

We would like to respond to the points you raise in your review: 1. Your comments on salary and bonus are incorrect and at odds with many of the reviews on this forum. Our bonuses in March typically delivered 10-15% - for our highest performers, some received payments of 20% plus for exceptional performance. Our promotion increases are also generous and we regularly benchmark our compensation in the market, including against the Big 4, to ensure that we remain competitive. 2. Capco is a meritocracy. Our performance management process promotes a holistic view of performance. All rating and promotion decisions are based on feedback from key stakeholders and hard business measures, and validated in roundtable discussions where challenge and debate are encouraged. 3. The firm hosts a variety of employee events including town halls, industry-specific events, summer parties and CSR events. All events held outside working hours are optional and many employees joining Capco enjoy the variety of events on offer which help them to develop their knowledge, build their network and have fun with their colleagues. We are disappointed to hear that you feel this way as a current employee and would strongly encourage you to speak with your coach, manager, HR or a member of the leadership team to discuss your specific concerns.

We are very disappointed to read your comments. As a firm, we invest a lot in our people agenda including training, coaching and events. There are also plans this year to re-launch our #BeYourselfAtWork movement in the region to further promote diversity and a positive and open work environment. In addition, as a fast-growing firm, Capco offers a wealth of career development opportunities for those looking to start or progress their consulting career in the financial services industry. It seems that for some reason your experience did not reflect this, however, please be assured that we evaluate all feedback through our different channels including this forum to continually enhance our processes and make Capco an even better place to work.

Pros

- Recently taken private again - Flush with opportunity to impact the direction of the firm at every level - New offices, new clients coming online - Culture that's true to their word when they say "Pitch a good idea and we'll let you run with it"; this is especially true in newer offices like Charlotte and DC - Simple yet fair comp structure; doesn't try to pay people less through smoke and mirrors complex bonus programs like at a lot of firms - Plenty of opportunity for people who want to step up to the plate and leave their mark on the firm - Quick promotion for those who are ready; no arbitrary forced time in current levels - Best benefits I've seen in the last decade, especially for families - A culture of work hard, but with a sincere concern and understanding that you have a life outside of consulting. They have unlimited sick days on top of paid time off but because of the culture I've not seen nor heard of anyone abusing this policy and it's a great one to have when you need it! - I could keep going, but you get the idea, this is a great firm with a lot of potential as a company and for anyone who works here.

Cons

- After splitting from FIS and going private, the operations are VERY lean. Not a terrible con as all of these are being worked on, but it does take time. Having to stand up new IT functions, update corporate policies, finance operations, etc. doesn't happen at the flip of a switch. Anyone who understands this will not be bothered by this

Thank you for your great review and we are delighted to hear that you are enjoying your first few months at Capco! Your review really sums up many of the great things about our firm and we are very excited to be opening new offices as you mention including Charlotte, DC and Stockholm. Your review is very helpful to give those considering joining the firm a real insight into your own experiences. As you mention, Capco is undergoing a transition period and while a lot of work has already gone into this, some of these things take time. Ultimately however, this will put the firm, and our people in a better position as we introduce policies, processes and systems which align to Capco's culture and needs. We wish you the best of luck in your Capco career!
