Pros

some good facilities and up to date technologies

Cons

The most vicious culture. Back-stabbing and pathological bullying. i saw a whole team of people hired at a certain level just to be bullied once inside for not fitting the mould. constant shifting priorities and huge change in job roles once inside. it's like they hire you promise you a lot then force you to regress to office junior/tea boy or girl whatever your level hired at until you've proved yourself inside which means sucking up and not at all performance or results orientated. micromanagement of everyone to the point of orwellian nightmare and just a generally nasty place.

Pros

good brand, some good people in front office

Cons

incompetent middle management, the majority of whom are dangerously underqualified to work in any position of authority within banking inadequate processes for almost everything blame culture - managers will not take responsibility for anything, backstabbing, always pass the buck to someone else politics are machiavelian - performance reviews in particular I could go on and on - i completely agree with previous review - the worst place I have ever worked

Pros

None - see below. I would not recommend this role in this company.

Cons

I write specifically about the complaints department in Liverpool which deals with retail banking complaints. Avoid - at all costs. For your own sanity. If you are erudite and on the ball, you’ll quickly pick up processes and training - because you’ll have to as their training is crap, even after it was “revamped”. It is a conveyor belt of complaints. You have to be fast to meet their “expectation” or you’ll be classed as failing. You are unable to do a good job due to how quickly they want you to work. Managers above front line team leaders are basically all stupid and try to sound like they know what they’re doing. What they are doing well is stressing good staff to the max. They have no idea how to run the place. I am a hard working person and I’ve never felt so micromanaged in any job. I didn’t feel trusted to manage my case load and ultimately this had led to my resignation. Overall, this is a bad place to work and the pay does not reflect the level of responsibility.
