Pros

Some of the people were very friendly and very nice to work with

Cons

DISGUSTED!!!!! I worked for this company as a temp on a six month contract. Due to the pandemic the building was closed and we were told to stay home until further notice. There was no communication from management about what was happening to our jobs. We were ignored and removed from official company group chats and left in the dark about the situation. We asked to be furloughed but this was rejected, even though this costs the company nothing, but would have given us an income to survive. We were told they would not be keeping the posts open for us after the pandemic so refused to furlough us, instead leaving us unemployed with no income in the middle of a global pandemic! If this is how you treat the staff that work for you, I feel sorry for your customers. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from the UK's biggest insurer!!!

Pros

Some good benefits. Pension is better than most in terms of company contribution. Some flexibility in terms of working from home etc.

Cons

IT is a toxic place to work. You only get ahead if you have a macho style to match the senior management. The people who get promoted are due to them being outspoken and criticising others (usually unfairly), rather than because of any real ability. It’s the worst environment I have ever worked in. The internal survey, Voice of Aviva has terrible and dwindling results but they are brushed aside and blamed on “change” rather than tackling the actual issues, which are the management style of the people at the top.

Pros

Progressive in outlook - wants to be relevant in a digital age Average benefits for financial services - better than some, worse than others Equality of parental leave policy may be a benefit for some

Cons

The most complex organisation I have worked in Lack of cohesion across businesses and markets - inefficient, and disorganised - too many little fiefdoms Fails to live up to the dynamic digital image it wants to present Probably 3-5 years behind other FS businesses
