Pros

The AP is rock-solid for fact-checking reputation and attracts amazing staffers. Union negotiations have helped keep salaries and benefits from industry's downward spiral.

Cons

As a cooperative owned by newspapers and broadcast companies, its not free to do everything possible to flourish and innovate.

Pros

You get to work with great journalists and the AP has a wide reach internationally. Values and mission are strong.

Cons

Company is struggling to figure out the new media landscape. Resources are increasingly diverted away from print toward TV vertical. With fewer resources, reporters must do more with less.
