Pros

Cannot complain about the working package overall

Cons

Internal politics is rife and not healthy. Motivation will drop over time due to the politics that takes place.

Pros

Easy job clock in and clock out, some of the benefits of the wider company e.g. bonus.

Cons

No chance of promotion unless you know the right people, IT a very political and hostile function. Politics, politics, politics...... did I mention politics?

On behalf of CIO: Thank you for leaving feedback, and sorry that Arm is not working well for you at the moment. Given the dynamic and demanding nature of our business, there is a lot for us to do, and there are always opportunities for our team to contribute more. I want everyone on the team to be not just doing their jobs, but figuring out how they can improve the work they do, and finding opportunities to deliver better service to our customers. As a leadership team we work hard to ensure that advancement is based on merit – a combination of performance against work objectives, and the acquisition of relevant new skills. We are coming up to our mid-year review, which is a good opportunity to discuss your progress, and your development plan with your line manager. I really encourage you to do that. If you feel that you cannot have this discussion with your line manager then please reach out to the business partner from the People team. Hope that Arm starts to work better for you soon, Andy Smith (CIO)

Pros

Very relaxed working environment, almost too relaxed. This is great if you have a family and constantly need to work from home like people in my team. If however you are a graduate and want to learn face-to-face, it is not a great place to begin your career.

Cons

Some managers have no idea how to delegate work and have no interest in your personal development. Everything seems like it takes too much effort and time for example booking onto a training course.

Thanks for leaving a review and your honest feedback. We encourage a flexible work policy designed to promote a healthy work/life balance, which is good for everyone, not just those with families! Most of the graduates I have met at ARM love the hands on experience and autonomy/trust that they are given. That said, others are more productive in a formal, structured environment, so it's a matter of determining what works best for you and your line manager. Communication is key between any employee and their line manager, so I highly encourage that you bring up your personal development with him/her in your next 1:1 session. They may not even realize what they are doing! I also recommend you to take a look at the Talent Development section on the ARM intranet, as that contains a wealth of information designed to help grow your career. -Rick C.
