Great place to work

Business Outlook

Pros

Interesting work, ethical company, employee well-being is treated seriously, salary is good, core values of the company are not just a slogan.

Cons

None yet but with an IPO looming and new CEO there's a danger of the company's core values being betrayed in the interest of pleasing stock market gamblers.

Pros

- Innovative projects - Empowered individuals - Tight teams - Comprehensive benefits and perks - Comfortable offices - Great location...

Cons

- Location that comes with some caveats (traffic!) - Buildings showing their age (but new buildings are just around the corner!) - Probably not the highest paying company (regarding base salary)

Thanks for sharing your view of life at Arm in Sophia Antipolis as a graduate - we're really glad you're enjoying your time with us. We recognise that up until recently our office hasn't been as great a working environment as we would like, but the first phase of our new building in France opened a few months back and we should have the second phase completed very soon to give an amazing experience.

Try to avoid PDG

Business Outlook

Pros

ARM is overall a very good company with an amazing set of benefits for the employees.

Cons

You need to be in the right group: CPU. Very often if you're not on the CPU line of business your work activity isn't stable and your project can be canceled and you'll be left alone with no activity to carry on until you quit the job. Especially you have to avoid PDG, the worst business unit of ARM. This group is running out of business with the budget getting lower and lower year after year. You won't have access to basics essential tools for engineers and tech leads, even 1k$ spending will take several months of approval till you'll drop your request. The strategy is in general confused and inconsistent, meaning that the priorities are changing now and then with several millions of investments lost. Middle management is focused on building weekly copy-paste reports, writing blogs, and newsletters while the real managing is left to the engineers. Project managers are used as secretaries with really no added value to the projects. Their main tasks are sending meeting invitations and asking the engineers to fill their timesheets.
