Pros

Good benefits offered by the company with an attractive salary. Decent flexibility for working parents.

Cons

Arm do not practice what they preach. Not a diverse company ethically. Unfair treatment if race is not in your favor. It is unfortunate that a big industry player is exactly just that and not personable towards its employees and unfair treatment that takes place. Senior level management stay away from issues employees face and allow untrained lower level staff to deal with the issues instead. The salary and benefit packages arm offer are the only real attraction. No real systems in place internally and also no hand over procedures.

We are glad you were enjoying the reward and benefits we are offering to our employees. Obviously we are sad to read that your experience of working in Arm wasn’t enjoyable. Unfair treatment of employees is not something that we condone. If anybody feels that they are not getting the support and treatment expected from their peers or immediate managers, Arm’s People team is there to support employees who feel that they are being mistreated. Depending on the issue, our whistleblowing or grievance policy will support in doing a full investigation. We want to make sure that all employees are fairly treated within Arm and we are fully committed to being an Equal Opportunity employer. Equality and diversity is really important to us. Pros

Some really nice people who know their stuff

Cons

- Bullying is seen as acceptable from senior managers (particularly in Sales team). - Work/life balance non-existent. - Training/onboarding non-existent. - Tenured employees remember favourably the old working culture, but Arm is no longer like this.

Pros

benefits (for example sabbatical) flexible hours are usually supported in most groups

Cons

extremely biased towards males - you have a chance to be "Arm shaped" only if you are male to begin with Core Beliefs are preached, not lived expansion swallowed most people in Cambridge with relevant experience; recent new employees are often hired for hiring's sake, not because of a skill match interview process is extremely lengthy and pre-filtered by HR: most suitable candidates are snapped up by other companies long before Arm makes a move

First, apologies for the delay in responding to your post. Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that this is your experience of Arm. We of course disagree that you have a chance to be ‘Arm shaped’ only if you are male. Our total number of female employees is average for our industry, a third of our Executive team is female and 25% of the graduates joining us this year are female. We are working hard to encourage more females to work in engineering both within Arm and in the wider industry. Our Core Beliefs were developed and chosen, with input from our people, as they best express the energetic, progressive and collaborative culture that is so tangible at Arm. 94% of people in our recent employee engagement survey (which had a response rate of 87%) said they were proud to work at Arm, and our Core Beliefs are so important for us they are connected to our performance management process. Arm’s interviewing and selection procedure is comprehensively designed to recruit the most suitable candidate for the roles we need. However, it is necessarily agile if a decision needs to be reached quickly. If you would like to discuss any of the points you raise in more detail, please get in touch with me directly or through Glassdoorfeedback@arm.com
