Pros

Smart and challenging colleagues, good atmosphear (for white collars), compensation, potential internal opportunities. Fast pacing company who is great for anyone who like that and can follow the rythm. Innovation and autonomy is encouraged. There are a lot of opportunities to learn, by yourself, from your colleagues and sometimes your mentor. Great for self starter.

Cons

Amazon's hierarchy embodies why companies should go into holacracy/sociocracy management type: there are a lot of smart and competent individuals (IC and first line managers who have to be hands on), yet those people are caught in reporting, doc writing to justify the X lines of managers (far to be leaders...) above them in WBR, MBR, QBR. Those meeting produce countless hours of time wasted and usually lead to absolutely 0 actions. Lots of meetings are setup for no reason - sometimes you even wonder if the management understand what is going on... There is a big lack of top-down communication in return. Don't expect vision or anticipation because directors are too busy driving politics to actually care about the business, we end up having multiple teams working on similar projects, then management fighting about roles and responsabilities.

Pros

Incredible world scale opportunities with talented people who work hard for each other. A seat at the table of the future of world commerce. Learning and growth opportunities impossible to find elsewhere.

Cons

With incredible opportunity comes incredible pressures. Extremely aggressive approaches are widely tolerated / encouraged. PIPs / development 'dev' lists and other damaging psychological management methods are encouraged for staff rather than analysis of systems that are not working.

Pros

New challenges every day, working with very smart people

Cons

A lot of stress, everything changes all the time and too many working hours (weekends, holidays)
