Pros

The monthly bonus payout can be good (IF you achieve the monthly goal which is very difficult and demanding)

Cons

- AS hires fresh grads in their early 20s with no prior experience. These people go on to become managers within 3 years. The managers micromanage you to the point that they will ask you to come to work early and leave late, Have a problem if you resist and will not give you autonomy. - The expectation is for you to put in extra hours - till 10-11pm everyday - Everyone feels entitled to provide ‘feedback’ for as little as typing loudly on the desk or not responding within 5 minutes. - My mental health really suffered during my time there and no money is worth the micromanagement and criticism. - They have certain policies that are not revealed until you join and they offer little to no flexibility in work from home. Please talk to ex employees and not currents, before joining! - A company with such a high employee turnover is a red flag. They don’t care about the employees and expect people to leave after 6 months

Pros

- learn after two weeks how to talk to anyone on the phone - That is it. I did not talk to anything I did in this job during an interview process for other firms and I think it hurt me to have this role on my resume.

Cons

- there are too many to list. - success is based on how fast you can mass email people - success is based on how sleazy you are and how pushy you can be - run by children - truly sucked the life out of me before my parents had to step in and make me quit even though I was successful in the role - expected response time of 5 minutes to your manager then 20 minutes to your client making you feel like you cant go pee - Moves so fast that people do not think and people succeed here if they do not like to think and just make money - not flexibly with working hours - no career development skills unless you want to have a career in sales

A Trojan Horse of a Job

Pros

Mentally Stimulating and you grow a ton. Tolerable if you have a good team and manager. TRAUMA BONDED BESTIES.

Cons

AlphaSights is a company that has great potential to be a great environment for their employees. The people are amazing to work with at the associate level and even sometimes at the manager and VP level, however, upper management does not take the mental, emotional, and physical health of their employees in mind at all. There are set business hours that you are required to adhere to, however at AlphaSights you are on call 24/7. Get comfortable with the idea of working 12+ hour days and weekends. Oh and you don’t get paid for it you are just expected to do it. There is no overtime pay whatsoever just the constant threat that you will lose your job. The salary is $75,000 your first year and is non-negotiable. This is not enough money to support yourself in either of their location in the US and although there is a bonus that you can work towards employees continuously say that achieving this bonus is MOSTLY out of their control. The attrition rate(Rate that people leave) is extremely high, 75%, a start class that began not even six months ago that started with 28 people is now down to 7. The constant changes in company policies creates an unstable environment where employees are expected to produce hyper growth in the company and themselves. This causes severe mental health issues in the employees and a culture that will ultimately cause everyone to want to leave the company. Despite being expected to take feedback constantly any feedback that is given by the employees to management is not taken seriously at all. Upper management has said things such as, “Being understaffed is a mindset” and “work hard so we can at least fight for you”. The company culture and managements attitude will just continue to get worse if there are not changes made to company policy and management best practices.
