Pros
Good-hearted, professional people who still work there. They made working at Auto1 much more bearable.
Cons
There is no real sense of working towards the same purpose. Never before has the expression "flat hierarchies" had such a twisted meaning as at Auto1. Pronounced hierarchies are one of the issues of this company. There is an authoritarian vibe in the air. Being "caught" casually checking your mobile phone may even award you a shout from one of the rude, idiotic bosses. The salaries are way below average (I was making at least 400 € less than what I should be making) and the chances of making more money highly depend on how many times you beg for it. Of course, your performance plays a big role in it, but you will never see your merit appreciated unless you speak up. Compliments, a pat on the back or overall appreciation for your contribution to the company’s progress are never recognized. One would think that Germany’s most valuable start-up would also invest in their people but not really. One would also think that the company wouldn’t have to be so stingy when it comes to salaries but, again, not really.
