Pros

- Free drinks - Adequate management - Cool HRs - International English-speaking teams - Free German courses - Good Hardware - All necessary software - Convenient location - Different compensations - Relocation assistance

Cons

Relocation assistance is only for tickets and transport. Unfortunately, flat can't be paid from relocation money. Openspace is very noisy. Hard to concentrate.

Pros

Berlin Employees like to brag about the chilled working environment (8h/day, almost no one works over hours), the fact that there's no dress code (I mean, really?), "free" food (there are literally like 10 bananas and one or two bowls of fruits for an entire department with more than 200 people. I have personally never seen these fruits, but apparently they exist) and free beverages (cola, beers and sugary juices. Because health comes first).

Cons

I have never seen such a creepy and awful working environment like Auto1. I mean, not for a company that calls itself a "tech company". I have never seen a professional environment where it is okay and normal to openly mistreat employees, culture that empowers people to mistreat each other, useless and overstaffed departments, absolutely unprepared "leaders" ruling entire teams for no good reason or "meritocracy", the most awful internal communication without any transparency, strict hierarchy like "the boss asked so I gotta do it without questioning". You even ask yourself sometimes if you're stuck in a post war scene. There's absolutely nothing that justifies the childish aggressiveness of managers over there. Within employees everyone knows that the company is a joke. It is the kind of place that you walk in and see no life or passion in people's eyes because everyone knows that no matter how brilliant you are, you're not gonna be able to develop anything because the management will never allow you to. So everyone is just there to obey and get their payslips, secretly chasing other jobs because it is fairly impossible to stay over a year at that horrible place. Check turnover rates. It's unbelievable.

Pros

+ Free fruit twice a week + Might find some nice colleagues you can learn from + Good pay if you are ready to die inside + HR department polite and professional

Cons

- No growth possible even if promised all the time - Bad communication on tasks and updates - No Betriebsrat or prevention institution for discrimination and mobbing - Bosses don’t care about employees as people. They don’t know any personal information about the employees (sometimes they don’t introduce when you join the company and never remember your name). They like to shame and lack any social savoir faire- just awkward atmosphere - Even though HR is professional and pay is good- turnover is very high and for a reason. Job descriptions are inflated to the ridiculous and, being overlooked, people lose motivation. - Depressing Christmas/summer parties, where bosses stay till the end to check if you behave - Very paternalistic, bosses will tell you not to check your phone, will discourage to talk to your colleagues, will look at your screens to be sure your videos are work related and if you wanna turn Spotify on for focus, well - you can’t - A matter of taste, but… open office structure - Managers and team leads are reluctant to give feedback: it goes from answering on a chat for urgent issue to organizing feedback talks to discuss work and contract updates. Had 1 meeting in 17 months and so did many others. - If you work in marketing or product, get ready for a weekly update that never ends.
