I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Standard Chartered Bank (Singapour) in Feb 2023
Interview
First screening online with lead architect. Went well, conversational around my CV and some questions on threading, deadlocks etc. Second interview with 2 devs from London, seemed nice enough. Very text book. Interviewer was reading off a word document a list of rote and niche interview question related to C# which had nothing to do with experience. The questions could be answered by a quick google search. They seem to focus on rote knowledge and not the expected output from a senior which is more than just coding, but rather team/personal interactions, architecture design and the bigger picture in general for software engineering. Also given no time to ask any of my questions even though enough time in the interview. Lost interest after this interview and got rejected the next day anyway. Red flags were going off in this 2nd interview.
