I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Paychex (Phoenix, AZ) in Jul 2019
Interview
I was extremely nervous at first. But everything ran seamlessly!! I started downstairs and interviewed with one Supervisor. She then brought me upstairs for a short tour. Next, she paired me with a Senior Payroll Specialist to shadow for 15 minutes. Finally, she brought me to the hiring manager who told me more about the company, her journey, asked me what questions did I have, and then offered me a position on the spot. I applied of Thurssay and got hired today (Tuesday). Idk if my experience was one off but they left me extremely excited to join the Paychex team!! Go into your interview with an open mind and not preconceived ideologies about the company based on the reviews. Remember, you are in control of the outcome of your interview if you apply yourself and try your best!! God bless!!
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you dealt with an irate customer.
Pretty long, strung out process and not very professional. First round phone screen, second round face to face interview with hiring manager. After this round the recruiter told me the hiring manager may not have a hiring position. third round shadow/ ride along.
Eventually it a final round was set with another Manager via video call and they were a bit rude and standoffish. After this, the recruiter went cold on me and we haven't spoken since. The rep that I shadowed/ new manager at least had the decency to inform me that they were considering an internal candidate and could not make any decisions until that person was considered.

Question 1
What type of worker would your current manager describe you as?
not bad but be prepared to have a phone interview, followed by an in person interview with an assessment and then a field ride. I didn't think the interview process was overly strenuous.
