I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Paychex (Saint Petersburg, FL) in May 2019
Interview
Spoke with a recruiter and then was set up with an in person interview. Arrived to the interview 10 minutes prior and didn't actually sit down with the two managers for 25 minutes after the scheduled interview time. There was no mention of their tardiness. From there a pretty much standard interview. Both managers were generally unaware of sales methodologies that were discussed. It seems like their sales reps don't know how to generate new business besides trolling CPA offices all day long. I also don't fit the typical physical profile that Paychex reps have.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Overland Park, KS) in May 2019
Interview
After applying I received an invitation to take an assessment. Once that was completed, I received notification that a recruiter would be contacting me. The recruiter and I talked for about 30 minutes. Mainly technical questions relating to the HR field. About a week later, I had a phone interview the person that would be my supervisor then a face to face interview a few days later with the same person. Lastly, I had a panel interview with the people that would have been on my team.
