I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (Manchester, Angleterre) in Mar 2018
Interview
Large group interview where you was on the spot. Then trial shift. Was told I did really well in both but then didn't get the job. Feedback was offered but when requested never received.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lush (Cardiff, Pays de Galles) in May 2018
Interview
I attended the recruitment night in Cardiff LUSH store. I expected there to be twenty or thirty people there - there were WAY more than I was imagining! The queue to enter the store was halfway down the street. On entering, we were given an introduction to the role, before being split into groups, where staff members demo'ed products before we tested them on our assigned partners. We were then told to find the perfect product for our partners. This was followed by a 1 on 1 sit down with a member of staff, where we explained why we picked a particular product for our partners. We were then offered trial shifts - I decided to take another job with a different company, and let them know I would not be attending.
The interview really gives you an idea of what being a sales assistant really entails, but honestly it felt fairly generic. We were not assessed on our demos, and it was honestly waaaay too crowded to actually work effectively. The one-on-ones made it really clear that they weren't excited about you coming to interview there - from what I've heard, this isn't how they treat you once you're staff, but it was fairly obvious that you were just another applicant to them.

Interview
Arrived at the interview (outside the shop) with around 18-20 other people.
Once we were inside, we were split into groups to perform different activities. These activities included talking about and demonstrating a bath bomb, performing a forearm massage with lotion (and talking about the product) etc. Personally, I think the interview was structured perfectly for its intended purpose - For the managers to get to know your personality and see how confident you are. It was a positive experience, however I found the activities a little difficult as more of an introverted personality.
