overall, fun interview questions and interviewers seemed super sharp and got good vibes. thought it was cool that they had staff level engs interviewing which helped when asking questions i had about company. hiring manager call is early on which is also super helpful to get a sense right away of whether you / they would want to work with each other.
I applied online. I interviewed at Hinge (New York, NY) in Jan 2026
Interview
Thoughtful interview process where I had the opportunity to meet many members of team. It feels like Hinge puts in just as much work as the interviewee, while you're together working to see if it's a good fit. They put a lot of emphasis on culture while also assessing technical skills. The process took 2+ months for me, but part of that was scheduling on my end. Started with a call with the recruiter, then HM, take home assignment, 90 pair programming interview, and culture interview. Considerate and timely communication along the way.

Interview
I had a very positive experience throughout the interview process with Hinge. The process was well-structured, transparent, and respectful of my time from start to finish. The interviews felt thoughtful and conversational, with a strong focus not only on skills and experience, but also on culture and values. Every person I spoke with was well-prepared, engaged, and genuinely interested in creating a two-way conversation, which made the experience both informative and enjoyable. Communication was clear and timely at every stage, and I always knew what to expect next. The recruiters and interviewers were warm, professional, and supportive, which reinforced the company’s people-first culture. Overall, it was one of the most positive and human interview processes I’ve experienced, and it left me with a very strong impression of Hinge as an employer.
