I applied online. I interviewed at Hinge (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
I interviewed first with the recruiter, who seemed distracted throughout the screen, but confirmed with me that he'd liked my resume and was just making sure I was who I'd said I was.
Later, I had a great interview with the hiring manager, which I very much enjoyed. The HM was personable, friendly, and asked insightful questions.
After this interview, I was asked to conduct a case interview. Scheduling this was extremely difficult, the scheduling software was unable to find a time where I could meet with the interviewers.
The interview went okay, it was scheduled for one hour but the question asked was not extremely complex. The interviewers informed me the case was actually supposed to be 45 minutes, rather than 1 hour. They did not ask extending questions, and I finished the case in 30 minutes. At that point, one of the interviewers realized they had to leave and left early, even though they had not participated in the interview much to that point (they had barely spoken).
After this third interview, a total of three interviews, the hiring team ghosted me. I did not receive any communication from them for two weeks. An automated email was sent asking me to rate my experience, which I rated poorly.

Interview
First, I went through an online assessment after the HR call. The assessment focused on Spark, SQL, and general coding questions, with a total of four questions.
Next was an interview with the hiring manager. She was very nice and took the time to listen to my experiences throughout the conversation.
I did not move forward to the final round, which would have included two technical interviews and one culture interview. I believe the main reason for the rejection was that my background and experience were not the strongest fit for the team’s needs.
Overall, the interview process was smooth and professional.

Question 1
Talk about an internal platform I built in my previous role.
The interview process was 4 interviews with various stakeholders across the People org. There was a recruiter screen, a People Ops interview, an interview with the Sr. Director of TA, and then an onsite interview with two VPs and a recruiter. The main recruiter was incredibly responsive, and the whole process provided a wonderful candidate experience.
