I was super excited when I received an email on a Sunday about an interview. I was asked to give my availability. I never heard anything back so I followed up. I then had to give them more availability. I then had a conflict that was completely out of my control as explained. She seemed very understanding and said no worries how about the same time tomorrow. I agreed and heard nothing. I again then followed up and heard nothing. I had given up due to the lack of professionalism and communication. Four weeks later I finally got a rejection email.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Hinge (New York, NY)
Interview
Overall long and exhausting. They start with a tech phone screening. 3 day HW assignment to build a fake web app for Hinge Profiles. Front end in any language you want, they provide some of the backend written in GO. Then another screening to talk about the hw, they'll ask you to scale your simple project to account for millions of users so be prepared to answer that. Last onsite. 4 interviews: Team fit, Backend architecture, Algo, Front-end architecture.
Be prepared to answer questions on scaling up everything.
I gave a negative experience based on the following criteria:
Back to Back interviews for almost 5 hours
Kept through lunch without a break
Algo interviewer gave wrong first case (which effected total algo) and keeps talking to you while trying to solve the problem
Basically, if you donât really want this job donât bother.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Hinge (New York, NY) in Sep 2018
Interview
I applied online to through their website and heard back within a couple of days. They scheduled a video chat interview and it was a great interview experience. They were very respectful, friendly, and genuinely seemed interested in you. They informed me that they would let me know within 48 hours if I am accepted to the next step in the process. I was not. They sent an email to let me know, which I found to be very respectable and appreciated.
