I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Hinge in Jan 2023
Interview
I interviewed for the people team after applying to a role online. It took about 2 weeks to hear back but they wanted to move forward! I spoke with the hiring manager who seemed great and was advanced to the next round. The next interview involved live situational assessments (role playing, essentially). They sent me the prompt ahead of time so I put about 1.5 hours in to preparing for these interviews. Unfortunately, it has now been a couple of weeks since those interviews and multiple follow up emails have been ignored. I feel like I'm getting the full Hinge experience!
Realistically, I understand it may be uncomfortable rejecting people and I understand the market is a bit crazy that sometimes people fall through the cracks. However, when they reach out to you it is unacceptable to not give an update, even if that update is no news or negative news. To me it shows a lack of empathy and reading some of these other reviews, it seems to be a very common theme.
Outlined clearly on their website, people were super nice, standard and thorough interview with Looker and dbt questions to illustrate skill. They also followed up and provided feedback when they chose another candidate. I really appreciated that.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Hinge (New York, NY) in Jan 2023
Interview
I felt the process was being made up as I went along. I started to interview with Hinge around January of 2023 when a recruiter first reached out to me. Overall I was dragged through ~7 30min and 60minute interviews meeting with numerous people and being shopped around for another position. You had to complete an assignment for each interview path, and just converse with the employees. After each interview you were left in the dark for about a week or so, not hearing from HR unless you followed up about 3 times. Then after being considered for 2 positions, completing 2 projects and making it through 6 interviews. I was just given a generic 'not an experience' response in an email with no real feedback.
