I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at CarMax (Rockville, MD) in Nov 2019
Interview
Phone interview followed by a one on one at the location. Fairly straight forward and standard interview. They read the questions and write down your answers. They post flexible hours in the job posting however there is no flexibility on the weekends. They expect that you work a set shift for 8 hours both days and there is no flexibility to that requirement. Good luck!

Question 1
Work hours availability. They expect that you work an 8 hour shift every weekend even for part time work.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at CarMax
Interview
Note: I did not interview, as I was rejected within 3 days of my application. I still wanted to write a review about my experience applying. There was a very lengthy online application, including personality tests (where they ask you the same question 5 different ways) and difficult IQ/pattern/sequence testing. It was very similar to ADHD cognitive testing and felt incredibly triggering for me. It was quite frustrating and one of the most intense application processes I've ever experienced. I was also an employee referral, with adequate experience, and received a rejection email at 1am 3 days later. The email was also worded in a way that make me believe I will not be considered for any Carmax design jobs moving forward. I am a very right-brained creative, and I'm very good at what I do. I feel like I was weeded out because I'm not a left-brained, super analytical thinker who loves excel spreadsheets...even though I was applying for a design job. I was very excited to apply (as I have many friends who work there and love it), but the application process left a bad taste in my mouth.
