I applied online. I interviewed at CarMax (Rockville, MD) in Aug 2020
Interview
Telephone interview - not sure if this was as a result of COVID-19 or if this is general practice. Very informal, only about 2 or 3 questions asked. Job offer was made on the phone.
The process was extremely long and there was no point of contact that walked me through what exactly was going to happen. It seems like they want to surprise you with what will happen and what kind of things you'll be asked.

I applied online. I interviewed at CarMax (Richmond, VA) in Dec 2020
Interview
Two interviews over the phone the first day, the first with one person, the second with a sample caller who might want to buy a car.
The first interviewer was very nice, went through all the standard interview questions and we had a good conversation.
The second interviewer started right away after the first, so clearly didn't have time to review anything I had said to the first, so I made sure they were aware of some of the key highlights I thought important from the first interview.
Do not try to speak Spanish unless you truly are fluent.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
They asked many standard interview questions, including successes and failures in the past and how to overcome them, also looking for teamwork and connectivity between the people they hire and the people they will be working with. Being able to pivot and accept a dynamically changing environment appears to be key.
They asked me about flexibility regarding work hours because the call center has a lot of time to fill. It's important that you're available weekends and nights.
