The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at CarMax (Las Vegas, NV) in Dec 2020
Interview
They contact you via phone and ask basic behavioral questions; why you want to work there. If you’re chosen they follow up with a video chat. You see 2 managers the first one goes over you resume/why you want to work there; the second guy does a role play selling a car. It was a lot of hoops to jump through for a $15 an hour job.

Question 1
Why are you interested in working at Carmax?
Have you ever interacted with difficult customers?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at CarMax (Richmond, VA) in Dec 2020
Interview
Started off with an online assessment with basic math and logic problems, then was contacted to participate in an interview and case study over the phone. I did really appreciate that they connected me with an existing employee unrelated to the interview process who graduated from my university and who I got to have a conversation with about the job and the company with no pressure. The phone interview had a few basic questions about myself, including one about a dataset I had worked with in the past, which he was very adamant about hearing about the one I used in an internship 3-4 years ago. He then got frustrated with me that I could not remember all of the variables and specifics. He then went straight into the case study. My interviewer talked very fast and periodically cut out, so it was hard to get information from him and understand exactly what he was asking, so it led to a lot of misunderstanding and confusion. I later found out that it is widely known that the answers to the case study could be found online.
