Applied online. Within a couple of weeks I was asked to complete a video interview. This wasn’t too difficult, 1 min to prepare for each question and then record your answer; why Capco? What does an investment banker do? Explain a database to a 5 year old and talk about your greatest achievement (some people had different questions to this so don’t bank on them).
Then I was invited to the Assessment centre. This consisted of a talk about the company, quick fire interviews; a bit like speed dating, moving around about 7 interviewers asking quick fire questions, mostly these were about the future of the financial services industry, challenges etc so nothing to be afraid of. A 20 min test on maths and English with a ‘spot the mistakes’ page at the end, this was a lot easier than expected and I felt it went well. Finally a group case study; we had to act as a consultancy and come up with suggestions for a failing bank, struggling with technology, staff, strategy, communication etc. This was quite poorly coordinated as we had members joining our group from elsewhere halfway through and everyone was trying to take charge for the first 5 minutes.
I was then invited back for a final interview with a senior consultant and a HR representative separately (30mins each). In the first interview I was asked much more difficult questions about the industry, technology and the onsite work that Capco do. The HR interview was to understand your motives for choosing Capco over their competitors.
