Pros

Other people are always willing to help you. It's a fairly relaxed atmosphere, and not a lot of stress. Amazing Christmas party. Their charity work and supporting the local area is admirable.

Cons

The pay and benefits are less than many other companies in the area. There is little to no communication between teams, so even products that rely heavily on each other may be doing things different ways and cause problems with each other. Documentation is lacking and out of date, in order to find out something you just have to know a guy who knows a guy, and get the answer directly from the source, even for fairly straightforward issues. Work from home is discouraged, and there's a very strong butts in seats 8-5 mentality. Management varies wildly depending on which team you're working for, some are considerably better than others. This also affects your career opportunities.

Thanks for your kind words about Yardi’s atmosphere, philanthropy, and now-famous party. We don’t know when you left, but we can say that there have not been radical changes in our culture. Instead, we pay attention to employee surveys and we try to respond. Perhaps that is why so many of our employees, like the one in the previous review, love working here.

Pros

Anant Yardi is an awesome CEO with great vision and an amazing attitude. For the most part Yardi is a non-toxic place to work.

Cons

Salary. The fact that a technical account manager who services some of the largest real estate trusts in the world makes 50k is a joke, add in the fact that the company is based in one of the most expensive places in the universe (Santa Barbara area) and you'd be lucky to EVER be able to buy a house or put your kids through college.

We appreciate your feedback. All of our salaries are benchmarked against national norms and salary is only one component of your overall compensation, along with paying 100% of your health care premium, a FSA plan, 401k, profit sharing, bonuses when deserved, etc.

Pros

You can work at your own pace. There is no micro management. Very stable and secure job, even during the recession.

Cons

There is no transparency, and which might be on purpose. Pay way below market salary. No employee care. You can work really hard and get a 4% increment where as someone who doesnt work at all, would get 3%. Politics Politics Politics. Nothing new to learn. No processes followed in this company.
