Pros

If you want to be in sales this is an OK place to start. Seems like a lot of people love or hate this place but it's really just alright. You get to work regular hours, 8-5 most days and there are a couple company wide meetings per year where they spend a lot of money on their employees. Training is good and ongoing while you're there. You have the benefit of selling a well known brand, Xerox. If you are lucky enough to get a good sales territory you will make decent money. Benefits are alright.

Cons

Far too many meetings, most of them just rah-rah kind of stuff like management trying to convince you how great the company is. Not a ton of support from anyone above lower middle management. You have to drive your own car (they usually don't mention that in the interviews) and the allowance is basically just enough to cover gas. Internal communication is poor. Make sure you get everything you want in writing with the offer, otherwise you probably wont get it. The worst thing about this job is how poorly divided the sales territories are. You will see sales people who are not very good making huge commissions because they have giant office buildings in their territory. Meanwhile, some good sales people will be making nothing as their territory is nothing but old, half abandoned, industrial buildings. Basically, a lot of your success will depend on the area they give you to sell in. Limited opportunities for advancement, not a place I could see having a long term career.

Thank you for your review, we always welcome feedback. MOS is a really great place for your career. Our training process is very in depth and not only teaches you about the product but teaches strategy and planning as well. These are the things that you can carry with you in all areas of your life. MOS reviews policies annually to make sure we are staying ahead of the curve when it comes to costs and reimbursements. We analyze sales territories annually as well to ensure that they provide a fair opportunity for everyone. The most successful reps are the ones who take full advantage of our training, the MOS internal resources and have tenacity to work hard every day to make it happen! When it does, which is more often than not, they are rewarded handsomely! We continually offer training and opportunities for advancement. We have the MOS Leadership Development Program that is offered to help develop our employees that are motivated to move into management and leadership roles. We take pride in offering these types of programs and we would be happy to have a conversation about how we can help anyone in the company that is looking for ways to improve themselves. As part of Global Imaging, we are also able to assist employees who are looking for opportunities in another area of the nation. This is a great benefit not only for advancement but for adventure!

Pros

The team I worked with was young and energetic- we had fun. Social events, outings.

Cons

Very low pay, bonuses were so minimal there was almost no point, super high ladder to climb to get to where you want to be, political games, they keep people on contract for a very long time (can be years) and then when the person threatens to quit, they give them full time. The company is dying, every year sales/revenues are down, they're always trying to figure out new ways of being innovative but other competitors have already done it, there are too many old people still working that should be retired- that are now allowing the new blood coming in to give their opinions of what the company actually needs to grow. High turnover because you have to do a minimum 2 years in a position even when there are job openings for other positions you are interested in, the company would rather give those roles to an outsider than promote internal job growth. When I worked at Xerox I was on a team of about 20 people. Two years later there are only 2 of them left working there. They are also constantly letting people go, blaming it on poor sales.
