Sinking ship

Pros

Work/life balance is good. Some of the legacy people are top notch.

Cons

The legacy business is in permanent decline, and they mortgaged the house to buy Lexmark. No raises this year, and they just suspended the 401k match. The executive "leaders" spend all their time in Connecticut, and don't have the slightest clue how things are going on the ground. Since they booted Icahn, the new executive team is short on experience running a business, but long on arrogance. The one executive who was actually a straight shooter just left. The jury is still out on the execs coming over from Lexmark.

Pros

Reasonable benefits and job perks. Flexible local management.

Cons

Poor wages. Poor raises that don't match inflation. Sense that corporate doesn't really care about lower employees. Management has been downsizing and giving us less and less resources. I was a "temp" for nearly 8 years with no benefits and 65% of my coworkers wages. Only hired me with benefits because I was ready to quit as they were struggling to find another employee willing to work as a temp.

Pros

- Xerox brand recognition - Expansive offerings - Flexibility

Cons

- new commission structure that cut commissions down an obscene amount - outsourced operations/HCL - poor communication from top level - out of touch top level - very difficult to maintain customer satisfaction as it relies solely on the rep when anything goes wrong: supplies, billing or service - lack of operational support: reps have to handle everything with very little base pay and low upgrade commissions.
