Pros

Co-Workers forge a sense of teamwork and a sense of being all in the same situation together. It goes a lon g way towards helping you to remain there.

Cons

There really is no need to work at walmart unless you have no other choice. I was dissatisfied with the pay, management, and almost all aspects of the company

Pros

Working in the distribution center paid very well. I met other associates that ended up being really great friends. I loved my schedule because I was able to work 3 days a week for 12 hour shifts and was still considered full time.

Cons

The benefits are horrible. I couldn't believe that such a huge, rich company would give their employees such awful benefits. They wouldn't pay hardly anything. Management thinks that they are something really special. They treated their employees like children. Because Wal-Mart doesn't want to get sued (which they constantly are) they have a script for how management talks to employees. I'm married to a manager and cannot believe how they look down on the regular associates. You become trapped because the pay is decent (at the distribution center), but the company thinks they own you.

Pros

Good job if you want to advance within a company but have little education. Opportunities to transfer to other areas. Some excellent people that will work together and care about their co-workers.

Cons

Unfortunately you have to contend with a mixed bag of staff, not all are incompetent, only the ones you have to work with. Compensation is mediocre and benefits are poor
