Pros

Decent pay. Easy job application. Usually a clear chain of command. Easy access to all of your shopping needs. Easy to learn.

Cons

No sick days, really. A lot of drama among workers. A lot of paranoia about being coached. No 30 minute lunches - only hour long. Inflexible hours. Schedule changes often - difficult to get management to listen or adapt to anything. Impersonal management... snobbish and mean, most of them. Usually understaffed - trying to find the balance between making the most money and overworking employees.

Pros

Walmart gives you a sense of purpose in this tough economy. Their benefits are good although the perception from outsiders is that they are not. The pay from my experience was better than average. This company does a lot of things really well.

Cons

Long hours, only 6 paid holidays off, work sat mornings once a month, micro mgt in IT heavy work load, mgt not understanding what their associates do.

Pros

insurance is good (get to choose what level and amount you want out of your paycheck), work is equal to pay

Cons

customers except you know everything, mangers are sometimes total morons, getting licensed for power equipment is difficult because the safety team has better things to do like "moon" one of the service technicians
