Having worked at Mylan/Viatris for almost 10 years, I can say without a doubt this is a desirable employer. The company truly has a unique culture with a people-centric focus. There is a “roll-up our sleeves, let’s get to work” mentality that became instilled in me. I didn’t fully realize it at the time, but I was given the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself all the while doing it with people that possess the same values and work ethic.
Mylan/Viatris provided me leadership skills, lifelong relationships, challenging assignments, and most importantly a company that was delivering quality products at lower costs to patients throughout the world.
• Leadership skills – I knew very little about servant leadership nor did I possess the confidence to speak to senior leaders before starting. I was consistently challenged to deliver quality work with the expectation to provide guidance to ensure leaders understood the business and could make key business decisions. I learned a lot about myself, my work style, as what it took to have a strong work ethic.
• Lifelong relationships – I can’t state this enough: People care about each other and are willing to work together to ensure the organization as well as the individual succeeds. There truly is a sense of “we are in this together.” There are highs and lows just like with any job, but your peers will always be in the trenches with you ready to deliver a quality product. I will always value the relationships I had at Viatris and will continue to carry them with me throughout my career.
• Challenging assignments – If you like fast paced and an ever-evolving landscape you will enjoy working here. Viatris is at the forefront of an evolving generic industry with a rich pipeline of complex generics and biosimilars. During my time there I was able to work in the North America business as well as at Global with continuing career progression throughout my time.
• Company mission – If you believe in access and affordability for important medicines for patients, Viatris is at the forefront of launching products that deliver on this goal. Despite the cost of healthcare continuing to increase Viatris is helping to deliver savings to patients and healthcare systems by spending R&D dollars to launch copycats to high cost branded drugs.
The bottom line is this is a company that cares about people, has a culture like none other, and has a mission that delivers a greater good to society. I would recommend it to any prospective employee.
