      Run don’t walk away from this place

      Pros

      - Immediate coworkers were friendly with each other within my group but most have little sense of belonging or relatedness across groups. - Convenient since I live in Lombard (close to work) - As a global company, get to work with people around the world, which also can present challenges

      Cons

      - Leadership was incompetent and indecisive - Enterprise strategy and goals were weak - Processes were inefficient to non-existent - Two recent reduction in forces destroyed what little morale there was; many are constantly wondering if they are next - No work life balance whatsoever, when someone leaves they often did not backfill and you had to absorb the work - Nexeo acquisition is going to be a train-wreck based upon culture misalignment - My division President used to constantly lament about turnover being high and climbing but never seemed to have a clue why — he should have asked us as I would have given him an earful

      A soul-sucking establishment

      Pros

      You're employed and you have benefits. There's a water cooler, fridge and bathroom. Have I reached my 20 word minimum yet?

      Cons

      Do you want to work unlimited overtime and not get compensated for it? Do you hate work/life balance? Do you enjoy being given unattainable goals that your pathetic bonus will be based on? Is training not your thing? Do you like being in a constant state of fear and paranoia about whether you’ll lose your job? Then you’re going to LOVE it here at Univar!

      Big company.. that's about it

      Cons

      Terrible management and they don't care about their people. They treat you worse than they pay you. They will micromanage the smallest responsibilities in your job. Don't expect respect or automomy here. They won't have your back if there are bad accounts that shouldn't be on your roster. They talk down to their employees. HR is a joke and definitely doesn't care about the employee. I am looking to leave this place the first chance I get.
