Pros

You get to serve with some of the funniest and dumbest people you'll ever meet. Benefits aren't that amazing when you're in as you'll barely be able to use them. However, it's the post service benefits that are amazing. You get to have a mission and a goal. Its very easy to save money if you are somewhat financially responsible.

Cons

Work/Life balance is terrible if you're attached to a terrible command The pay is terrible compared to your workload most of the times. You get paid salary essentially and the leadership often could care less if you have to stay late and work on last minute things. Often times, you could even work weekends when you're off "duty" Never get attached to a carrier regardless of location.

Pros

Your time in the Navy is what you make of it. It’s not bad but it’s not great, and sometimes the opportunities to branch our are very limited. Chain of command is a consistent problem no matter where you go. I don’t miss the Navy, I miss the people.

Cons

Management Chain of Command Time Duty Lack of Individuality and Self Identity Medical and Dental are bad
