      Operations work for the U.S. Navy. Great positions are available when rank is acquired. Educational benefits are great.

      Pros

      Great travel opportunities if you like to travel. Great opportunities to advance if you place your work as your priority. You are part of a great family and they will take care of you, good or bad.

      Cons

      Family life is null. I read at some other comments with the complaining of 50 hour work weeks. Average work week is 60-80. Leadership is not always competent. Salary is horrible for the amount of work you do.

      Pros

      After 6 years in the US Navy, I can say I've seen quite a bit. I've been all over the world, about 20 different countries in Europe, Africa, Middle East, and SE Asia. Benefits are about as good as it gets. The pay is somewhat competitive.

      Cons

      My biggest complaint is you will never be home, especially if you are attached to a ship. I have spent over 50% of my time in the Navy either deployed or underway, preparing to deploy. The Navy has some very good leaders, and they also have some very poor leaders in all pay grades. You're stuck with whoever you get as your supervisor/manager.
