Pros

Target is a very good company to work with if managers have some sense. Innovative projects and tech stack.

Cons

Politics, politics, politics everywhere. You cannot escape these politics. Complaints on managers are never taken seriously. Discrimination is evident. Managers halt the growth of talented people. No respect for skill and talent. Only people who have contacts can survive here. Not good work but being "yes sir" to managers will help you grow. The manager I worked under, is just surviving on the contacts he has at office. He is a serial offender and many women complained on him. Women have quit because of him and also mentioned this to HR. Yet, he gets all the support from the company.

Pros

->Really chill workplace ->Target has adopted usage of open source Tech, which might be helpful post leaving company ->Workload per sprint is at comfortable levels, which leaves plenty of time for GRE/CAT/TOEFL/SOP preparation for higher studies -> Public git repos, all tech being worked on has public documentation, so if you're interested, there are plenty of sources of information -> Lead engineers and other senior level people are very approachable even for the smallest of doubts/questions -> Perfect place if you are a fresher looking to do masters in a year or so and also looking for some cash for next to no workload -> Work-life balance is amazing. -> Amount of work undertaken is upto self, but other engineers are happy to pile their work on you if you do not know how to engage in office politics.

Cons

-> Raise is independent of work put in, rather it depends on the amount of noise/fuss made over work done -> Promotions are dependent on how loudly one laughs at the director's jokes, not at all on technical proficiency -> Most directors are clueless about what the teams that they are responsible for have done in the past quarter. -> Target India is a haven for old engineers, who specialize in legacy tech, and refuse to learn new tech, hence growth for a fresher is extremely limited. -> Target India is also a haven for ex-service company employees who look to exploit the company and who manage to not get fired by deflecting focus/blame on others. -> Target India is not a place to be if you are looking to work in the same company and grow at a reasonable pace. Most freshers leave in 1-2 years(masters).

Pros

Great teamwork and very supportive team members to facilitate guests and one another. Great place to initiate your career and lot of opportunity to learn on the job about customer service and retail business set-up and operations

Cons

One really had to struggle hard to get 40 hours for the week (only the team leads and supervisor gets 40 hours week). All the other staff members complain about very non-competitive compensation structure. You only qualify for Medical Coverage once you cover around 1000 hours with the institution,
