Pros

Most of the customers have shifted to online shopping and not coming to stores and the future looks bad for Target. There will be 500 strength reduction planned in workforce at Bangalore office. Target has hired agencies which post positive reviews so this review may get buried under those positive reviews. But I am playing my role by making everyone know the reality.

Cons

Target has started asking people to quit in many teams. There is confirmed report that around 500+ people will be asked to go in the first wave. Future looks very bad as after the initial rush people have stopped coming to stores now and all are staying safe and doing online shopping. There will be many more teams which will be shut completely.

Pros

Decent compensation, flexible work schedule and good work-life balance

Cons

If you are a techie fresh out of college, do yourself a favor and do not work for retail companies like Target.. Everyone here is an architect and has little to no knowledge about technology.. You will be constantly bombarded with meaningless meetings whose outcome is usually nothing productive and most of your work will be outsourced to some company in India or Uruguay.. The work culture here is very bad. Most of the days I used to be the lone team member working. Everyone else would take a holiday at the pretext of WFH. If you are from a prestigious college with a great technical background, do not consider Target as your workplace option..

Pros

There is decent work life balance compared to my last job in investment banking, and there's a great collegial atmosphere. Some of the people you encounter will become your best friends, and people are very apt to attend happy hour 2-3 times per week. There are many young (and attractive) people that work at Target, so socializing is never difficult in or outside of work.

Cons

For the most part, the people you encounter at Target are the polar opposite of genuine. Everyone puts on this façade of excitement, and acts as if you're their best friend. The corporate politics of Target are insane; you need to be able to be the perfect Minnesotan (passive aggressive) to be promotable (luckily I'm a native). There is constant whispering around the office and you can never trust that what someone says to you is how they feel. Another issue is the heir of elitism at HQ. Yes, Target is the #2 retailer on the planet, yes (if you are female), you are probably very attractive, but no, you are not an astro-physicist, nor do you get paid like an engineer. Regardless, you will hear endless complaints regarding the work/life balance, because a 35-hour work week is very challenging.
