Pros

The people I work with nightly

Cons

Night shift management at Sysco Va only care about themselves and the training for new hires is terrible. Turnover is out the roof. Poor management all across the board. Transportation can’t keep drivers, the VP, director of operations and warehouse manager need to go. Sure they have been there for eternity but there is a need for change as they lie and are running the company name into the ground. No wonder there is unions in so many Sysco facilities. Only time before Virginia has one. Wake up corporate and look at the hiring numbers as this place cannot keep anyone. The hiring never stops so at some point you need to wonder why is that.

Pros

Great money. When you finally get your own route the job becomes a lot easier and somewhat enjoyable. Try to not start as a relief driver or just ask your supervisor not to cause it’s a different route every time and that’s how guys quit. Having a consistent route, you’ll get to know your customers, know how to maneuver around parking lots. You’ll also make a lot more money cause you eventually get stops done quicker.

Cons

Trailer is delayed 1-2 sometimes 3 hours late. Full trailer loaded terribly so you’ll be digging and rearranging pallets until you have space to work. Hell you might have to put merchandise for a stop that’s 6-7 ahead of your first or second stop OUTSIDE of the trailer cause you have nowhere else to set them just so you can get your 2-wheeler and YOURSELF in there to work.
