Pros

The staff I managed made the job bearable. And the fact that the title company - Subway - is all around a great company to be associated with. Classic and familiar fast food that serves a more health conscious society, something that carried a since of pride, or perhaps value.

Cons

The actually franchise owners were fairly awful given the region. Minimum wage, with very little hope where raises were concerned and when they were rewarded the increments were very small and normally only accompany a promotion and there are only so many titles to go around. In such an industry where turn around is very high, they did little to reward or show gratitude for the loyalty of the hard working staff of which the franchise was very lucky to have. And as someone who worked with the auditing and paper trail aspect of our particular location - there was really more that could have been done.

Pros

Working alongside like minded individuals kept me working there for over 2 years. I looked forward to seeing my regular customers in this fast-paced environment!

Cons

Being a slave to a Franchisee has its downsides. No set raise schedule, no one notices a hard worker, and owners trying to pinch every penny (sometimes losing a regular customer in the process) does add stress to this somewhat relaxed environment. Every location varies by the Franchise Owner of course.

Pros

As a subway sandwich artist: simple tasks, not that many procedures and complicated stuffs, hours are flexible, the pay is reasonable considering the nature of the job

Cons

Lots of upfront customer dealing, work can get strenuous and physically tiring (standing through all the shift with constant work: cleaning, preparing sandwiches), limited room for promotions or other job opportunity within subway.
