Pros

If you love to work with people this is the job for you. You work with young people that you mentor. You also get to meat people from all over. you always learn something new.

Cons

You become dependent on coffee because you can have all you want.

Pros

If you love coffee, they offer decent training (depending on your Manager) and flexible scheduling. If you are a student or single parent, the benefits (available even for part-timers) are an added benefit. Most of the people working with you are very helpful and friendly.

Cons

Customers can be rude and condescending, food service industry work can be demeaning. Some stores are open 24 hours, so you may work late night / overnight or early morning shifts. Health benefits are not that great (most have capped pay outs). Wearing the "green apron" and SBUX baseball cap is supposed to be something of pride, but most find it demeaning.

Pros

The benefits package is definitely the aspect that drove me to work for Starbucks.

Cons

The pay is okay, but as most people don't realize, a lot of the things that the baristas do are exhausting. Really, what it comes down to is the manager. If your manager is a good leader and understanding, then your work experience will be fantastic.
